Mr. Nichols joined Austin Associates in 1984 after having served as President and CEO of two Banc One Corporation affiliate banks. From 1977-1979, he served as Superintendent of Banks for the State of Ohio. A Commissioned National Bank Examiner, Mr. Nichols served six years with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. His banking experience, in addition to serving as a bank CEO, includes serving as a head of commercial lending for a major Ohio community bank. He was a member of an organizing group for a de novo community bank and currently serves as a member of its board of directors. Mr. Nichols is a frequent speaker on matters pertaining to financial institution management and is an author of articles on a variety of banking industry topics.
